To excel in Corrections Training, you need a background in criminal justice or a related field, knowledge of correctional procedures, and often state certification as a corrections officer or instructor. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), training simulations, and incident reporting software is typically required. Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills help trainers effectively manage trainees and foster a safe learning environment. These competencies are crucial for ensuring correctional staff are well-prepared to maintain safety, security, and professionalism within correctional facilities.
