Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsible and accountable for patient care in the Cardiac and Pulmonary (“CP”) Rehabilitation department including observation, monitoring and motivation of patients during exercise, and assuring the safety of patients at all times.  Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and purpose of the hospital.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  ADN required, BSN preferred.

Licensure:  Current Arkansas or Compact State RN license in good standing. 

Experience: One (1) year acute care experience.  Previous cardiac experience preferred. 

Certifications: BLS required.  ACLS must be completed within 6-12 months of date of hire or transfer date.  Basic arrhythmia course must be completed within 6-12 months of date of hire or transfer date.  Basic computer skills required. 

Safety Sensitive Designation:  This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without an accommodation.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following:  Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions.  Spend 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse daily. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.  Must be able to demonstrate use of machines/stretching exercises.  Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity with or without correction to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms.  Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
