Title: Control Room Operator Location: Tulsa, OK area Schedule: Dupont 12 hour rotating shifts - 4:45 in/out Hourly rate: $40-47/hour Benefits: Health/Dental/Vision 100% covered - 401 w/ 6-7% match - PTO, HSA, STD, LTD, insurance options, etc. Job description: The Control Room Operator monitors and controls hydroelectric and thermal power generation equipment, ensuring reliable electricity production and water management. Key duties include analyzing console data, responding to alarms, and coordinating with field personnel for safe, efficient operations. Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Continuously observe control panels, computer systems, and DCS to oversee generators, turbines, and grid connections.
  • Adjust power generation levels, manage water levels at dams, and operate switchgear from the central control room.
  • Promptly troubleshoot alarms, abnormal conditions, or malfunctions to minimize risks, often taking immediate corrective action.
  • Direct field operators for equipment inspections, maintenance, and startup/shutdown procedures.
  • Document operational data, log, and report equipment performance or failures to management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical utility systems, power generation equipment, and DCS systems.
  • Previous experience in power plant operations or as a control room operator is typically required.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in troubleshooting.
