Job description

Title: Director, Corporate Public Relations (Confidential)

Location: Tennessee

Salary Range: $170-180K + 20% Bonus and Long-Term Incentives

An industry-leading organization is seeking a Director of Corporate Public Relations to lead executive communications, media relations, and corporate storytelling.

This highly visible position partners directly with executive leadership to shape the organization's public narrative while serving as a trusted communications advisor across financial communications, crisis management, executive messaging, and corporate reputation initiatives.

Unlike many leadership communications roles, this opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being a hands-on communicator—writing executive messaging, press releases, media materials, talking points, and strategic communications personally rather than managing large teams or relying heavily on outside agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead corporate public relations strategy
  • Develop executive messaging, speeches, and thought leadership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during crisis communications
  • Build and strengthen relationships with national media
  • Support financial and investor-related communications
  • Partner across business functions to ensure consistent corporate messaging
  • Advance sustainability and corporate responsibility storytelling

Desired Background:

  • 8+ years of corporate communications or public relations experience
  • Experience supporting publicly traded organizations strongly preferred
  • Retail or consumer-facing industry experience highly desirable
  • Outstanding writing and storytelling capabilities
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and financial communications
  • Comfortable operating independently in a highly visible role
