The Sr. Analyst, Corporate Development plays a critical role in supporting Planet Fitness’s growth strategy through the evaluation and execution of domestic and international M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Development, this role provides critical execution capacity across an active pipeline of transactions and strategic opportunities.

The Sr. Analyst will be directly involved throughout the transaction lifecycle, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, transaction execution and post-close integration.

This role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and cross-functional teams and contributes to the company's long-term strategy. It is well suited for an individual looking to leverage their transactional experience in a dynamic corporate environment while gaining broad exposure to strategic decision-making and value creation.

This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires regular, in-person work at our Boston, MA or Hampton, NH office. Our hybrid model is M/T/W in office and TH/F are optional work-from-home. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of these locations. Fully remote work is not available for this role.


M&A Transaction Execution

  • Work with the Manager, Corporate Development to evaluate and execute domestic and international M&A opportunities, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Support communications with investment banks, legal advisors, consultants, and potential partners.
  • Support transaction processes from initial opportunity assessment through due diligence, negotiation, signing, closing, and post-close integration.
  • Coordinate and support due diligence efforts, collaborating with Legal, Finance, Operations, and external advisors.
  • Manage deal process logistics, including NDA execution, data room setup, and document tracking across active transactions.
  • Manage and track active transaction workstreams, ensuring key milestones, deliverables, and next steps remain on track.
  • Support the Manager and VP in preparing term sheets, investment memos, and Board materials.
  • Maintain a pipeline of M&A opportunities across various strategies and geographies.
  • Assist in identifying synergies and operational efficiencies in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Support integration planning and performance tracking for closed transactions.

Financial Modeling & Valuation

  • Build, maintain and enhance detailed financial models to evaluate acquisitions, investments and partnerships.
  • Conduct valuation analysis, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and return on investment assessments to evaluate transaction economics.
  • Translate complex financial and operating data into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.

Strategic and Market Analysis

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating growth opportunities aligned with corporate
  • Support the active tracking of live engagements to assist with project prioritization.
  • Evaluate potential opportunities against strategic, financial, and operational criteria.
  • Prepare briefings, benchmarking studies, and market scans to inform strategy and deal flow.
  • Track and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging growth areas.
  • Work cross-functionally to gather insights and data needed to inform deal strategy.
  • Help create business cases and presentations for executive and Board-level review.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or CFA a plus)
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, private equity, or corporate strategy
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation and analytical skills; high level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Demonstrated experience with due diligence, and execution of complex transactions, including M&A
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-exposure environment with a strong desire to work to meet project goals
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, non-public information with discretion
  • Able to manage work streams independently, identify what a project needs without being directed, and escalate appropriately
  • Familiarity with core M&A transaction mechanics, including letter of intent structure, purchase agreement concepts, and closing conditions
  • Experience in fitness, consumer, franchise, or hospitality industries is a plus
  • Experience with cross-border transactions or international market analysis is a plus
  • Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and synthesize complex data into clear insights
  • Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally

The salary for MA-based and NH-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below. This is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with a candidate’s professional experience, qualifications and internal equity.

Annual Base Salary Range: $95,000-$130,000
