Organization: Commonwealth Emergency Physicians (CEP) – Independent, Physician-Owned Group


Commonwealth Emergency Physicians (CEP) is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join our independent, physician-owned group serving Northern Virginia. This is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative, high-performing emergency medicine team with a reputation for excellence in patient care and professional development. Based primarily at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, this role offers the ability to work across multiple sites—including our Cornwall Campus and Inova HealthPlex – Ashburn—all within close proximity. CEP PAs are fully integrated members of the clinical team, practicing autonomously with strong physician support and consistent mentorship.

Practice Environment

CEP provides emergency services at three Northern Virginia locations, offering physician assistants the opportunity to work in diverse, well-equipped settings within a unified group structure:

  • Inova Loudoun Hospital (Flagship Site):
  • 50,000 annual ED visits
  • 9-hour shift 10am - 7:00pm (nights shift team covers 7p-5a may have occasional opportunity)
  • 26-bed adult ED and 11-bed pediatric ED
  • Level III Trauma Center, Leapfrog Hospital, Epic EMR
  • Inova Emergency Care Center – Cornwall Campus:
  • ~20,000 annual visits
  • 11am-11pm 12-Hour Shift
  • Freestanding ED is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission
  • Inova HealthPlex – Ashburn:
  • Conveniently located near Dulles International Airport
  • Modern environment with flexible, lower-volume Noon - 10:00pm shift


Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in Virginia (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Medicine experience required
  • ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to team-based care
