Role Purpose
As an Operations Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining mixing manufacturing processes to enable safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to solve technical problems, improve process performance, and strengthen fundamental process understanding. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement new technologies to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own daily process performance by supporting production, monitoring key metrics, and responding to process issues.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, and equipment technologies.
  • Troubleshoot process excursions and drive corrective and preventive actions through structured root cause analysis.
  • Apply engineering principles, statistical analysis, and process data to improve stability, yield, throughput, cost, and variation.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce defects, downtime, scrap, cycle time, and process variation.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while identifying risks and supporting mitigation actions.
  • Support new raw material, process, and equipment introductions through trials, qualifications, ramp-ups, and documentation.
  • Build and sustain process knowledge by improving standards, documenting learnings, and maintaining technical discipline.
  • Communicate priorities, escalate issues, and collaborate with operators, production leadership, maintenance, quality, safety, and engineering partners. Provide shift supervision coverage as needed to support production priorities, maintain operational continuity, and ensure effective communication across shifts.

Education and Experience: Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering preferred) with 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience using engineering principles and statistical analysis to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, DMAIC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools; Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel for data analysis and basic reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to define issues clearly, identify root causes, and drive actions to closure.

Work Conditions
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, typically 40-50 hours per week.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required for production needs, process trials, equipment startups, troubleshooting, training, or urgent operational issues.
  • Participates in a rotating on-call schedule.

The range for this position is $84,932.00 - $116,782.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
