Corner Job information

What is a corner job?

Corner Jobs are typically entry-level or temporary positions that require little to no prior experience, often found in the service, retail, or hospitality industries. These jobs are ideal for students, individuals seeking flexible work hours, or those looking to gain initial work experience. Corner Jobs can include roles like cashier, barista, waiter, or delivery driver and often offer on-the-job training. They provide an accessible way to enter the workforce and develop basic professional skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a corner job worker, and why are they important?

To thrive in a corner job, such as roles in retail, hospitality, or entry-level service positions, you typically need basic literacy, numeracy, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management tools, or scheduling software is often required. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a positive attitude help individuals excel in customer-facing environments. These skills ensure efficient operations, high customer satisfaction, and a productive workplace.

What typical challenges might someone face when starting as a corner job, and how can they be addressed?

Those starting in a Corner Job role may face challenges such as adapting quickly to a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple tasks or shifts, and learning industry-specific protocols. It's important to communicate proactively with supervisors and colleagues, ask questions when unsure, and be open to feedback. Building good time management and teamwork skills can help new hires succeed and grow within the organization.

Job description

About us
Corner Health is rebuilding primary care by helping Nurse Practitioners (NPs) start and scale their own independent practices. Our AI-native operating system handles everything from billing and insurance to patient communication and clinical workflows, giving providers more time to do what matters most: care for patients.
In the past year, we've become the fastest-growing primary care network in Arizona and Washington, supporting more than 70 provider-owned practices and over 35,000 patient visits.
Corner Health was founded by Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford and has raised $32.5M from Oak HC/FT, First Round Capital, Zigg Capital, and the founders of DoorDash, Commure, Grow Therapy, Kindred, Culdesac, and more.
About the Role
We're looking for a Practice Growth Lead to drive practice-level performance across the Corner Health network, and identify & scale growth opportunities that every practice can benefit from.
At Corner Health, we're building something fundamentally different: a network of hyper-local, independent, in-person primary care practices powered by modern technology. This is a completely new model of care. Today, 88% of patients prefer a provider powered by Corner Health vs. elsewhere, and patients return at 2x the national average - not because of marketing, but because the experience actually works.
That foundation creates a unique opportunity. When patients trust their provider and keep coming back in-person, there's a wide surface area for growth, from follow-up care and longitudinal programs to longevity care to new services like cash and wellness products, better retention loops, and entirely new ways of engaging patients.
This role is about unlocking that.
You'll work directly with the cofounders and the Practice Growth Team to drive the growth of every provider practice we power, shaping strategy, building acquisition engines, and scaling patient volume across all markets.
What you'll work on
  • Growth coaching: Work directly with providers to help them execute on the playbooks that you develop. This is not theoretical, you'll drive (and eventually own) real P&L impact
  • Test new revenue lines: Help us test and launch new wellness and cash-pay products (like peptides), longevity offerings (advance labs and genetic testing), and new frontiers of longitudinal care enabled by our innovative care model -taking ideas from 0-1 and into real revenue
  • Playbook development: Own and innovate on what works, systematize it, and help drive rolling it out across our growing network of primary care practices
  • Cross-functional execution: Partner with product, ops, and growth to ensure initiatives actually land in practice

You'll be responsible for making each practice more successful than the last, build a system that compounds over time - all in service of helping independent providers build durable, high-quality practices.
What you're like
  • You are hard-working, kind, and curious.
  • You have a high degree of autonomy and the ability to scale from 10 to 1000.
  • You're excited to work directly with providers.
  • You have 4-10 years of experience owning outcomes in a fast-paced environment - this could be at a clinic, wellness organization, early-stage startup or multi-site business.
  • You enjoy working in-person (our office is in Santa Monica, CA); you either live in LA or are excited to move to LA.

What would set you apart
  • You're excited by the idea of creating more independent medical providers.
  • You're excited about emerging wellness trends, but bring a thoughtful, evidence-driven approach.
  • You have worked in a clinic-esque environment before
  • You care deeply about building something patients actually trust.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary & equity compensation
  • Top-tier health and dental
  • Health & wellness stipend
  • Eligible to participate in company-sponsored 401(k) plan

What we're like
You're joining an early-stage company - it's important to learn more about what we're like!
We're a small team with high ownership and high autonomy. We are motivated by the providers we get to know, and the patient lives we impact.
We love celebrating when one of our providers hits a patient growth milestone, when we see a stellar review written by a patient who finally feels listened to, or when we ship a quick feature request that a provider has (our fastest time from request - live was 12 minutes!)
We use best-in-class tools to move fast and punch above our weight, and the work we do has a direct, tangible impact on people's health and lives, and we feel that every day.
Lastly - one of our team values is "Life is short - it's OK to laugh". Whether it's late-night team dinners, mini golf, or just jamming on new ideas for our providers - we work hard and have fun doing it.
Corner Health is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic.
