Role: Sr. Core Java Developer

Location: Providence, RI

Duration: 12 months + Extension

Interview: Phone screen then skype interview

Must Have:

1. Oracle, Java, SQL, Unix

2. Restful Web Services

Sr. Core Java Developer with strong Database development skills

All 10 positions are developers - A combination of database / core Java development. The focus is on Core Java (they will not work with any front end development of frameworks), Teradata, Oracle, and Unix Programming.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will vary based on the specific project each consultants is assigned to. Some of the general responsibilities will include

1. Developing Java services to process data service requests to different Java based applications.

2. Write complex SQL queries and Shell scripts as part of daily activities.

3. Analyze issues and suggest technical solutions.

Must Haves:

Strong Oracle Database Experience:

  • Needs to understand the use of triggers
  • Needs to have DDL Scripting experience
  • Needs to understand the use of internal & external tables
  • Needs to understand all aggregate functions in Oracle
  • Needs to understand how to work with Views
  • Needs to understand the different types of sub-quarries
  • Needs to understand the different types of table partitions.

Strong Unix Scripting and Programming Experience:

  • Must have strong Shell Scripting/Programming, knowledge specific commands, working with command lines
  • Must have experience accessing the command line arguments from the Shell Scripts
  • Must have experience debugging Schell scripts
  • Must have experience working with hard links and soft links?

Core Java Development Experience:

  • Experience with Multi-threading and synchronization,
  • Must have experience with Abstract Classes and interfaces
  • Must have experience with Strings and Arrays
  • Must have experience with OOPs Concepts & Patterns
  • Must understand File IO and Serialization
  • Must have experience with Collections - List , Map , Set etc.
  • Must have experience with Exceptions - Checked , Unchecked

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of Data warehousing concept
