Job Description: Line Cook – Limelight Hawaii

Position Title: Line Cook
Department: Culinary – Limelight Hawaii
Hourly Rate: $20.00 hour
Reports To: Executive Chef and Sous Chef

Position Overview

Limelight Hawaii is a premier entertainment and dining venue in Honolulu, offering signature cocktails, à la carte dinner service, and full banquet events for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We are seeking skilled and motivated Line Cooks to prepare high-quality dishes with consistency, speed, and creativity across multiple service formats. This role is essential to delivering exceptional culinary experiences that complement both intimate dining and large-scale events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items for:
    • À la carte dinner service
    • Cocktail and lounge service (small plates, pupus, appetizers)
    • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner banquet events
    • Daily lunch service for groups and individuals
  • Follow recipes and presentation standards as directed by the Executive Chef.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining portion control and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow line cooks, prep cooks, and chefs to ensure smooth service during peak periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, ensuring compliance with DOH and company sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory rotation, labeling, and storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Adapt to special menus, themed events, and banquet service requirements.
  • Support the culinary team in menu tastings, new dish rollouts, and seasonal offerings.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a line cook in a restaurant, hotel, or banquet setting preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Culinary school training or certification is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a hot, fast-moving kitchen environment.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
