The Associate Vice President, Network Services role provides technical and operational leadership for enterprise network infrastructure across TD's global Network Services portfolio. This role leads a team of network delivery & engineering managers and architectural subject matter experts responsible for the design, delivery, and successful operation of secure, reliant, and scalable network services across TD's Retail, Campus, and Datacenter LAN, WAN, MAN network technologies across the US, Canada, and international locations across TD's businesses.
This highly visible network role is accountable for execution of the network strategy, operational stability, and financial management across the network services portfolio, encompassing delivery of network capabilities aligned to business objectives and regulatory requirements for a GSIB banking organization. Combining deep technical expertise with executive leadership, this key leadership function ensures consistent service performance, cost discipline, and continuous improvement across the network environment.
As a leader of one of the key network technology towers, this role has key involvement in supporting and partnering with other Infrastructure & Engineering teams to align network services consumed by application and platform owners, inclusive of Enterprise Architecture and related technology teams.
Depth & Scope:
  • Leads and develops a team of globally distributed Senior Managers responsible for supporting network technologies across core routing and switching and related technologies
  • Drives development and execution of the network services strategy and roadmap aligned with Infrastructure & Engineering and business priorities
  • Oversees engineering, design, deployment, and lifecycle management components of enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, security controls, as well as connectivity and edge services.
  • Ensures highly available, performant network technologies supported in partnership with Infrastructure & Engineering Operations team, ensuring operational resilience.
  • Partners with Network Operations to drive enterprise monitoring frameworks and analytics platforms related to network performance testing and related platforms.
  • Accountable for Network Services P&L, including portfolio planning and forecasting, cost optimization, and overall spend management
  • Ensures network infrastructure operates in compliance with banking regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks prescribed by Enterprise Protect
  • Maintains deep technical understanding of enterprise networking technologies, architectures, and industry trends aligned with banking technology
  • Drives further adoption of network automation, observability technologies, and modern network engineering practices
  • Promotes a culture of technical excellence, operational rigor, and continuous improvement across the networking domain - inclusive of automation and orchestration capabilities to drive predictable outcomes.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking tied to technology leadership
  • Deep understanding of network technologies in global banking environments and complexities of multi-national global WAN footprints.
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Arista, Zscaler, Netskope, Palo Alto Prisma, Aruba EdgeConnect, VMware Velocloud.
  • Proven track record of implementing enterprise-level technology solutions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with financial industry standards relative to network technologies in practice.
  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic visioning skills.
