Job Summary:
Brown & Brown is seeking a Network Engineer to join their growing team in Plano, TX. The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, monitoring, support, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across both physical on-premise deployments and cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
• Configure, deploy, monitor, and support enterprise network infrastructure in both on-premise and cloud environments
• Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall technologies
• Implement and support routing protocols including Static Routing, OSPF, and BGP
• Configure and troubleshoot switching technologies (VLANs, spanning tree) and secure wireless networking deployments
• Support core network services including DHCP, DNS, IP addressing / subnetting, and network segmentation
• Configure and maintain secure remote access solutions including site-to-site IPSEC, SSL VPN and ZTNA technologies
• Administer and support network platforms and solutions including Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco solutions
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools including SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, NetBox, and Zabbix
• Perform proactive troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network performance and connectivity issues
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to support business and technical initiatives
• Document network configurations, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures
• Participate in network upgrades, migrations, maintenance windows, and disaster recovery activities
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure environments
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including: Routing (Static Routing, OSPF, BGP), Switching, Wireless networking, Subnetting and IP addressing, DHCP and DNS, IPSEC, SSL VPN, and ZTNA technologies
• Hands-on experience with: Cisco networking solutions, Meraki platforms, Fortinet firewalls and security appliances, Palo Alto firewalls
• Experience with cloud networking concepts and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Experience using network monitoring and management tools such as: SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, NetBox, Zabbix
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
