POSITIONSUMMARY:
Duquesne University seeks a high-performing, relationship-drivenadmissions professional to serve as an Assistant Director of UndergraduateAdmissions. This role is designed for a motivated admissions practitioner whohas demonstrated success in territory management and is ready to expand theirimpact through increased responsibility, strategic thinking and ownership ofkey initiatives.
Building on a strong foundation inrecruitment, the Assistant Director serves as a primary Universityrepresentative in an assigned territory while also managing a defined area ofspecialization that contributes to the advancement of enrollment strategies,processes or programs. This position requires a balance of execution andinitiative, with an emphasis on continuous improvement, data-informed decisionmaking and a solutions-oriented approach.
The successful candidate will bringa track record of results, strong organizational and communication skills andthe ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, goal-orientedenvironment. This role requires adaptability, sound judgment and a willingnessto take on increasing responsibility, and includes travel and evening orweekend commitments during peak recruitment periods.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruiting undergraduate students and increasing the visibility of DuquesneUniversity within recruitment territory. Additionally, demonstrating successand competency in successfully managing assigned territories (funnel growth,relationships strengthened, more refined travel activities, recruitmentinitiatives, etc.).
Communicatingwith a large volume of prospective students through outbound phone calling,text messaging, personal emails, handwritten notes, individual appointments(in-person and virtual), and the regular use of arsenal (both printed and webinformation as well as members of the campus community - i.e., faculty, alumni,current students, coaches and parents of current students).
Cultivating,engaging, grading, persuading and closing prospective students, qualifyingconversations and generating next steps (visit, apply, file FAFSA, submitenrollment deposit, submit housing application, register for classes, etc.).
Making financialplanning calls.
Developingmeaningful relationships with alumni, school counselors and other constituentsin recruitment territory.
Demonstratingknowledge of and ability to effectively communicate regarding all aspects ofDuquesne University, including but not limited to mission, core values,policies, academic programs, student life, outcomes, athletics, housing,financial aid, billing, advising, etc.
Reporting on aregular and ongoing basis to enrollment management leadership regarding allrecruitment activities utilizing data from Banner, Slate, Power BI, etc.
Makingrecommendations to improve recruitment tactics and further develop visibilityand recruitment strategy.
Coordinating andexecuting a recruitment travel schedule inclusive of college fairs, high schoolvisits, information sessions and regional receptions. Travel may occur onweekdays and weekends.
Projecting andmanaging a travel budget on a University procurement card.
Evaluatingundergraduate applicants' academic credentials/participating in the admissiondecision-making process, including awarding of academic scholarships.
Managing an areaof specialization outside of traditional recruitment territory.
Adapting toshifting policies and responsibilities in order to prove readiness for newtasks that require breadth and depth.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
1-2 years ofexperience in college or university admissions, enrollment management, or a closelyrelated student-facing role.
Demonstratedsuccess managing recruitment territories and contributing meaningfully toenrollment outcomes.
Strongorganizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to managemultiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively within ateam.
Valid driver'slicense and ability to travel independently.

Demonstratedability to lead or meaningfully advance projects, initiatives, or processes,including identifying challenges or opportunities and contributing tosolutions.
Evidence ofexperience beyond individual territory management, such as leading componentsof recruitment initiatives or supporting team development and knowledge sharing
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data, metrics, and reportingtools to inform decisions, refine strategy, and improve outcomes.
Demonstratedability to translate strategy into action, balancing longer-term planning witheffective day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
Proficiency withenrollment and recruitment technologies, including CRM systems and reportingtools (e.g., Banner, Slate, dashboards).
Experiencecollaborating across teams and departments, contributing to shared goals andmaintaining productive working relationships.
Professionaljudgment and discretion when navigating complex, sensitive, or high-stakessituations.
Ability to workadditional hours and weekends during peak Enrollment Management periods.
Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
