We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Acute Dialysis Technician to join our dynamic team.


Position Overview:


Core Dialysis is seeking a dedicated Acute Dialysis Technician to provide expert support to our nurses and patients in providing acute dialysis procedures in the Katy area. This role involves working across diverse healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term care hospitals, and rehabilitation hospitals. As a vital team member, the Acute Dialysis Technician will be adhering to stringent processes and protocols.

  1. This role offers flexibility, accommodating full-time or PRN positions based on the company's requirements.
  2. This role typically operates with scheduled shifts from Monday through Friday, supplemented by occasional weekend assignments as needed for specific positions.
  3. This role typically operates with a call-out schedule to manage any unforeseen emergencies as needed for specific positions.
  4. While certification is not required for this position, we welcome and appreciate it. Certified (CHHT) candidates bring added value to our team, and we recognize the effort and expertise that certification represents.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain compliance by adhering to equipment manufacturer recommendations, company policies and procedures, and industry standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory mandates.
  • Ensure patient needs are met while promoting a customer-friendly environment.
  • Adhere to patient-specific and facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform delegated tasks such as patient transportation.
  • Perform delegated tasks such as inventory management.
  • Ensure that all equipment labels are current, clearly visible, and feature legible handwriting at all times. Additionally, coordinate label information with the corresponding documentation on company forms for consistency and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate proper utilization of and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Performs clerical duties including accurate documentation. Understanding and completing machine logs and water log documentation.
  • Execute and oversee the daily and weekly hemodialysis machine disinfection process and water testing in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collect and test the water in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Practice safety measures and infection control standards.
  • Facilitate the transportation of equipment and supplies as required.
  • Maintain compliance with the standards outlined in the Core Dialysis policy and procedures, as well as standards and regulatory requirements set forth by the state and federal agencies.
  • Foster strong relationships with external vendors and internal colleagues through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
  • Promote financial stewardship by responsibly managing company resources and diligently caring for all equipment. Additionally, prioritize the safeguarding of company information to maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity.
  • Promotes a customer-friendly environment for patients and their visiting friends & family members.
  • Additional responsibilities may be delegated to you in alignment with the requirements outlined in your job description.


Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks including patient handling and emergency response.
  • Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in reading and writing and basic mathematical skills.
  • Use of Core Dialysis technology for receiving work assignments, communicating work progress, and completing assignments.
  • Follows Core Dialysis physical and electronic checklists to always maintain survey readiness.
  • Flexibility and availability to work at least 32 hours per week, including covering call-outs as needed for specific positions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions efficiently. Ability to complete physical tasks including, but not limited to lifting and carrying supplies, lifting, handling equipment, and responding to any emergency that may arise.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 protocols, including vaccination or exemption requirements. Core Dialysis follows CDC guidelines and state regulations. Proof of vaccination or qualified exemption is required.
