Job description

Geotemps, Inc. is seeking experienced and dependable Core Cutters to support exploration and mining operations in a remote, camp-based position.  The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and accurately cutting, handling, labeling, and preparing drill core samples for geological logging and analysis. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a remote mining environment and is comfortable with extended shifts and camp living.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate core cutting equipment and related tools.
  • Cut diamond drill core according to established procedures and geological requirements.
  • Handle, organize, label, and prepare core samples for logging and sampling.
  • Maintain accurate sample identification and ensure proper chain of custody.
  • Assist geologists and geological technicians with core handling and sampling activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe core processing area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of core cutting equipment.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or unusual core conditions to supervisors.
  • Work effectively as part of a geological and mining team in a remote camp environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience cutting or handling diamond drill core is required.
  • Mining, exploration, geological, or core processing experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to safely operate core saws and related equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable living and working at a remote mining camp.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental standards.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
