About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed AI Specialist to help shape the future of AI-powered work across Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking. This is a hands-on individual contributor opportunity to combine deep technical AI expertise with the ability to partner directly with business stakeholders to solve complex, high-value problems.
As a Forward Deployed AI Specialist, you will embed with business, product, and operational teams to understand real-world workflows, identify opportunities for agentic AI, and rapidly design and prototype solutions that deliver measurable value. You will work at the intersection of business, technology, data, and risk - building solutions that are innovative, practical, and deployable within a highly regulated environment.
Successful candidates are equally comfortable engaging with senior business leaders, working hands-on with modern AI technologies, and partnering with technology teams to transition solutions from prototype to production.
In this role, you will:

  • Partner directly with business, product, and operational teams to understand workflows, pain points, controls, and opportunities for transformation

  • Design, develop, and prototype agentic AI solutions that improve productivity, decision-making, and operational effectiveness

  • Translate business requirements into technical designs, workflows, and proof-of-concept solutions

  • Leverage modern AI techniques including large language models (LLMs), agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation methodologies

  • Collaborate closely with Technology teams to industrialize and deploy solutions into production

  • Work with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and other control partners to ensure solutions are explainable, auditable, and aligned with governance standards

  • Contribute reusable patterns, capabilities, tools, evaluations, and reference architectures that can be leveraged across multiple business domains

  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices while helping raise AI fluency across the organization

  • Drive solutions from concept through implementation with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Artificial Intelligence Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, AI/ML, data science, solution architecture, or a related technical discipline

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered solutions

  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including:

    • Large Language Models (LLMs)

    • Agentic and multi-agent architectures

    • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

    • Tool and workflow orchestration

    • Prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks

    • Knowledge retrieval and context management

  • Experience translating business needs into technical solutions

  • Ability to rapidly prototype while maintaining a production-oriented mindset

  • Experience operating within regulated, risk-managed, or control-intensive environments

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across business, technology, and control functions

  • Experience within commercial banking, corporate banking, capital markets, lending, client onboarding, financial crimes, deal execution, sales/origination, trading, or related financial services domains

  • Experience building AI solutions within enterprise environments

  • Knowledge of model governance, AI risk management, responsible AI, privacy, and information security practices

  • Experience with cloud-based AI platforms, enterprise data ecosystems, and production AI deployment patterns

  • Proven ability to operate in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments

  • Experience delivering AI capabilities that have achieved measurable business impact
