Job description

Position Overview
The B2B Content Marketing & Copywriting Intern will focus on elevating Powercast's brand profile and industry authority through high-quality written content. Working closely with the Marketing Director, you will primarily create business-to-business (B2B) content-such as whitepapers, blog posts, sales materials, and press releases-with occasional opportunities to draft consumer-facing (B2C) copy. A core focus of this role will be optimizing this content for modern digital discovery, utilizing both traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and emerging Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to ensure Powercast ranks highly on Google and is cited by AI search tools.
Location: This position is on-site at Powercast's HQ in Pittsburgh, PA.
Duration: June thru August, up to 40 hours a week in-office, M-F 830a-5p.
This is a paid internship.
Objectives of the Internship
  • Establish Industry Authority: Help position Powercast as a thought leader in the B2B tech space through well-researched, deeply informative written assets.
  • Modern Digital Visibility: Apply cutting-edge SEO and GEO tactics to ensure our corporate content is highly visible to both traditional searchers and AI-driven engines.
  • Audience Adaptability: Master the ability to write authoritative, technical copy for corporate clients, while occasionally pivoting to clear, accessible copy for everyday consumers.
  • Brand Profile Elevation: Produce top-of-funnel content designed to increase overall brand awareness and drive inbound leads.

Responsibilities
  • B2B Content Creation: Research, outline, and draft educational blog posts, industry articles, and foundational sections for corporate whitepapers and case studies.
  • Advanced Content Optimization: Infuse keyword strategies (SEO) and clear, authoritative structuring (GEO) into digital copy to maximize visibility across Google and conversational AI engines.
  • Corporate Communications & PR: Assist in drafting official press releases, company announcements, and media pitches aimed at elevating our public profile.
  • Sales Enablement Support: Write and edit copy for corporate sales sheets, B2B email marketing campaigns, product presentations, and landing pages.
  • B2C/Consumer Touchpoints: Occasionally draft consumer-friendly blog posts, website copy, or FAQs to explain Powercast's technology to the general public.
  • Social Amplification: Convert technical B2B articles into engaging, platform-specific copy for professional networks (primarily LinkedIn) and occasional consumer channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Currently pursuing a degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writer with a knack for technical storytelling and explaining complex concepts simply.
  • Strong interest or foundational understanding of SEO; highly curious about AI search behaviors and GEO.
  • Excellent research and interviewing skills-comfortable diving into technical subject matter.
  • High attention to detail with strong proofreading and editing capabilities.

What You'll Gain
  • A Strategic B2B Portfolio: Published writing samples spanning technical whitepapers, PR, and digital content that prove you can write for corporate audiences.
  • Cutting-Edge Marketing Skills: Real-world experience implementing GEO strategies, putting your resume significantly ahead of the curve.
  • Direct Mentorship: Daily collaboration with the Marketing Director to refine your corporate voice and content strategy skills.
  • Tool Familiarity: Practical experience using Hubspot for content management and distribution.
