The Mail & Print Associate is responsible for delivering all items (letters, packages, specimens and all interoffice mail) as well as printing and photo copying documents as needed for various departments within the HUMC campus as well as off campus.


A day in the life of a Mail and Print Associate at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Assists in maintaining control over the Medical Center's in-house printing, mailing, materials, job inventory and replenishment to fulfill the needs as requested by Medical Center departments.
  • Completes requested work within established standards, requests come via interoffice, email (request drive), tube down, phone calls, fax and walk-ins.
  • Answering of phone calls and assisting the caller by either providing information, completing a requested task or taking a message for the department.
  • Performs print jobs within a 3 day window for completion and are done in order. Understands priority and rush jobs will be done first. Required to make a follow up call when the job is completed.
  • At our print facility we perform bindery work, cutting, laminating, booklet making, padding and folding task as assigned. Required to create forms and update or revise documents as necessary.
  • At our mail facility we process incoming and outgoing mail, specimens and FedEx within established standards. Responsible for mail taken to the post office by end of day, and also when it is picked up twice daily from the post office.
  • Transportation of specimens to and from HUMC to other facilities.
  • Assures all Board of Governors mailings are delivered by the Medical Center couriers to the correct location and on time.
  • All mail and print tasks are accurately completed daily and logged on a daily log sheet.
  • Records all Federal Express letters and delivers to designated areas within established standards.
  • Manage the automated mail processing and assures the postage meter is secured at all times.
  • Records in computer all outgoing Federal Express letters.
  • Performs delivery and pickups at off-campus locations. Daily pick up/drop-off of bins from Breast Center to vendors requires 2 staff members.
  • Performs all other physical requirements of the job as defined by the department director including standing, crouching, stooping, bending and walking for approx. 7 hours per day, pushing and pulling of supply carts and printed materials. 
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. 
  • Compliance with all Post Office regulations as it regulates to HUMC regulations.
  • Compliance with all Copyrights Laws as it regulates to HUMC regulations

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a Mail, Printing or Customer Service Environment.
  • Computer skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Some College preferred.
  • Prior computer training or experience is desirable.
  • Experience working in the healthcare environment.
  • Bilingual.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state or NJ Commercial Drivers License.
