Job Title

PCB Copper Plater (Printed Circuit Board Copper Plating Technician)

Job Summary

The PCB Copper Plater is responsible for operating and monitoring electroplating equipment used to deposit copper onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). This position ensures that plated boards meet customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate copper plating lines and associated equipment according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and load PCB panels into plating racks or automated systems.
  • Monitor plating processes, including temperature, current density, solution levels, and plating times.
  • Perform routine chemical additions and adjustments as directed by process specifications.
  • Inspect plated boards for defects such as voids, uneven plating, burns, nodules, or insufficient copper thickness.
  • Measure and record process parameters and production data.
  • Conduct basic quality control testing and documentation.
  • Maintain plating baths and filtration systems to ensure proper chemical balance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of plating equipment.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Identify process issues and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Work closely with quality assurance and production teams to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
