Traveling Superintendent – Los Alamos, CA

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our growing team.


Position Summary

The Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coordination, and execution of construction activities on assigned projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with TI Builders' quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of commercial construction experience, strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

· Provide daily on-site supervision and leadership of construction operations.

· Coordinate activities among subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, clients, and project team members.

· Maintain a productive, professional, and collaborative jobsite environment.

Safety Management

· Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

· Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Scheduling & Planning

· Develop and distribute a three-week look-ahead schedule every Friday.

· Collaborate with the Project Manager to update and maintain the master project schedule monthly.

· Proactively identify and mitigate schedule impacts.

Subcontractor Coordination

· Communicate subcontractor pricing, recommendations, and selections to the Project Manager and Project Assistant.

· Coordinate subcontractor activities and monitor performance.

· Facilitate timely approval and implementation of scope changes.

Documentation & Project Controls

· Ensure all required project documentation is submitted to the Project Manager for storage and tracking in Dropbox.

· Communicate all agreements, commitments, and negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.

· Maintain accurate project records and reports.

Quality Control

· Review construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards.

· Work closely with the Project Manager regarding plan revisions, RFIs, and change management.

· Maintain updated as-built drawings on a weekly basis.

Reporting & Communication

· Submit weekly progress reports outlining completed work, upcoming activities, and project challenges.

· Provide a minimum of three project photos each week by Wednesday.

· Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders regarding progress and potential issues.

RFI & Change Management

· Collaborate with the Project Manager to prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs).

· Identify potential conflicts or deficiencies in plans and specifications before they impact construction.

Progress Tracking

· Provide updated project completion percentages based on the Schedule of Values by the 20th of each month.

· Monitor productivity and progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.



Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of commercial construction superintendent experience.

· Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, scheduling, and safety practices.

· Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Dropbox or similar document management platforms.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors, clients, and team members.

· Ability to operate common hand and power tools as needed.

· Reliable transportation; truck preferred.

· Flexibility to work varying schedules based on project requirements.
