Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Project Manager II for a direct hire opportunity supporting specialty concrete infrastructure and prestressed tank construction projects. This is a mid-to-senior level leadership role responsible for managing multiple active construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and financial performance.

The Project Manager II will coordinate closely with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, owners, and internal departments including Engineering, Procurement, Safety, Accounting, and Administration. This role requires strong leadership, advanced project controls experience, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure projects in fast-paced field environments.


Responsibilities

Develop full understanding of contract documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda
Ensure project execution aligns with safety, quality, scope, and schedule requirements
Prepare and manage project startup packages including budgets, job cost setup, and execution planning
Develop and maintain CPM schedules, including updates, revisions, and look-ahead planning
Coordinate with drafting teams on shop drawings, formwork drawings, and construction detailing
Review shop drawings for compliance with contract requirements and specifications
Manage submittal processes with subcontractors and purchasing to ensure timely approvals
Prepare, transmit, and track all submittal packages throughout the project lifecycle
Review bills of materials, purchase orders, and work orders for procurement approval
Conduct site visits during mobilization and active construction phases as required
Lead internal preconstruction meetings and ensure project readiness
Review weekly job cost reporting (EPIR/CCTS) for accuracy and performance tracking
Present cost and schedule updates during monthly WIP meetings
Oversee field coordination including safety inspections, QA/QC inspections, pre-pour meetings, testing requirements, and job cost tracking
Manage production tracking, unit quantities, T&M reporting, and budget/schedule adjustments
Maintain regular communication with Superintendents regarding field progress and constraints
Manage change orders, delays, and contractual coordination with owners, GCs, and subcontractors
Ensure timely project closeout including O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, and punch list completion
Lead post-project review and internal performance evaluation meetings
Participate in monthly department meetings and support assigned initiatives
Support continuous improvement and professional development efforts


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
3+ years of Project Management experience or equivalent construction leadership experience
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and insurability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong scheduling, submittal, and document control experience
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

Concrete, civil, or infrastructure construction experience strongly preferred
OSHA 30 Certification preferred
Proficiency with MS Project or scheduling software
Proficiency with Bluebeam
Experience with Autodesk DWF Composer
PMI-CP Certification a plus
First Aid / CPR / AED certification a plus
