Job description

JOB TITLE: DISHWASHER/ ATTENDANT
DEPARTMENT: FOOD & BEVERAGE

PURPOSE
Under the direct supervision of the executive chef, the cafรฉ attendant performs a variety of food service and dish room duties. These duties will include preparation, presentation, and service of food, as well as sanitation and cleaning duties as assigned by the executive chef or supervisor.
JOB SUMMARY
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of bistro and lakeview dining
  • Utilizes standard procedures to provide consistent service to customers
  • Maintain inventory of bistro beverage area and rotates, dates food items and stocking of all food items in area
  • Responsible for ensuring all the dishes and kitchen utensils are properly sanitized. Load and unload the dishwasher.
  • Records sanitizer levels daily, or as necessary. Reports any equipment problems to the executive chef.
  • Empties trash after each meal, or as needed, and keeps the dumpster area clean and ensures the lids are closed.
  • Keeps kitchen floor clear of debris, sweeps and mops after each meal and all food storage areas.
  • Ensures a "wet floor" sign is in place during mopping.
  • Cleans all walls, in the chemical closet, dry storage, laundry room, cooler, and freezer.
  • Removes all ice and debris from shelves in the cooler and freezer.
  • Removes milk pallets and rubber mats for cleaning.
  • Cleans and organizers paper and cleaning supply room weekly.
  • Cleans inside of windows monthly. Cleans ovens once each week by rotation. Cleans vents every two weeks, inside and out.
  • Works as a team player with the food and beverage department, adjusting duties to cover other assignments as necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the executive chef or supervisor

JOB KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Good communication skills are necessary
  • Friendly customer service skills
