Job Title: Production Associate Division: Cool Creations- Production

Reports to: Production Manager FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt-Hourly
Company Overview:

Cool Creations is a fruit and vegetables production company. They offer sliced and diced options and are available in myriad container sizes. Cool Creations is a sister company inside of C&C Produce. Which has operated the Midwest's Largest Produce Warehouse in North Kansas City since 1992. We deliver fresh produce to schools, restaurants, grocery stores, distribution centers, and healthcare facilities. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking dedicated, energetic individuals to join our team and contribute to our growing success.

Production Associate operates under the guidance of the Production Manager to complete orders and ensure the smooth operation of the production line.

Duties Include:

  • Assisting in completing fresh-cut fruit and vegetable orders.
  • Maintaining company standards of plant sanitation in all production activities.
  • Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company policies.
  • Adhering to hand washing practices.
  • Wearing safety equipment and personal protective gear as specified by GMPs, SOPs, and company policies.
  • Reporting to supervisor any illness, disease, wound, or source of microbial contamination that could affect food contact surfaces, packaging, and food products before starting work.
  • Inspecting produce and ingredients for contamination sources and reporting any issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Keeping a clean, organized work area always to prevent cross-contamination and cross-contact.
  • Performing manual and mechanical tasks using machines, knives, hands, etc., to cut and process fruits, vegetables, ingredients, etc.
  • Operating machinery such as metal detectors, dicers, slicers, flumes, dip tank, vacuum sealer, spin dryers, shrink tunnel, and mango and pineapple machinery as trained and assigned.
  • Placing fruit, vegetables, and ingredients in containers and sealing containers when complete.
  • Following the Allergen Program and Allergen Clean-Up SOP.
  • Placing labels on containers and cases.
  • Assembling cases (boxes), placing finished products into cases, and palletizing cases.
  • Completing production forms for each production shift.
  • Always supporting safety programs in all areas of the production plant.
  • Familiarizing yourself with the time clock and its operation, and timing in and out for lunch, at the beginning, and end of the day.
  • Staying in assigned areas always and checking with the supervisor before leaving.
  • Working with a positive attitude and using excellent communication skills.
  • Always follow supervisor instructions.
  • Reporting all unsafe working conditions to the Production Supervisor or Director of Operations immediately.
  • Performing other duties as assigned. Tasks are to be completed as directed.

2nd shift: 330p-1:00a- Starting pay $15.00/hour
