<p><strong>Description:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>The Cook works to prepare consistent, high-quality food at the Resort. This role focuses on ensuring food safety and service standards, presentation, and quality are met. The Cook works under the supervision of the Sous Chef and Resort Chefs, or designates, and closely with all culinary and warehousing departments at Sunshine.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods, including: <ul> <li>Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods</li> <li>Oversee kitchen operations set up, cleaning, and organization of work areas</li> <li>Ensuring that all food service standards, health and safety regulations, and quality controls are followed consistently and thoroughly</li> <li>Must be hands-on in food preparation and serving, when needed</li> <li>Additional duties to be tasked at a supervisor&rsquo;s discretion.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities <ul> <li>Assisting with the training of kitchen staff, including completing documentation</li> <li>Timely and accurate incident and deficiencies reporting.</li> <li>May assist with menu planning, food portions, estimates of requirements and costs.</li> <li>Assisting with monitoring and ordering supplies.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Experience/Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience: 1 year experience in a high-volume food service format.</li> <li>Food handling certification is required. Candidates must provide proof of valid certification upon hiring or complete an employer-provided course to meet this requirement.</li> <li>Strong communication &amp; organization skills</li> <li>Outgoing, positive, friendly attitude.</li> <li>Calm under pressure and patient, able to exercise good decision making.</li> <li>Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.</li> <li>Prepared to work flexible schedules (weekends, holidays)</li> <li>Maintain professional conduct when in uniform, on or off-duty, and online.</li> <li>Effectively provide support, and assistance to coworkers.</li> <li>Attend and actively participate in meetings and training.</li> <li>Must be neat, punctual, and dependable.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Additional Considerations</strong></p> <ul> <li>This position may require working in various Food &amp; Beverage venues across the resort, based on operational needs.</li> <li>Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.</li> <li>This position works at high altitude and at times, in inclement weather.
