Barnesville Public Schools is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Cook Helper to join our food service team. This is a four-hour-per-day position that reports directly to the Director of Food Service. The Cook Helper assists with preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with food preparation according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines
  • Portioning and serving meals efficiently and courteously
  • Following all food safety, sanitation, and health requirements
  • Assisting with production records and other required food service documentation
  • Washing dishes, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, serving areas, and workspaces
  • Assisting with receiving, organizing, and storing food and supplies
  • Working collaboratively with cooks and other food service employees
  • Performing other food service duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service

Qualified candidates should be reliable, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in food service or a school kitchen is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Candidates must be able to perform the physical duties of the position and successfully complete all required employment screenings.
Salary
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $14.51 to $18.89, depending on qualifications and experience.
