Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Field Installation Technician. The position would require you to travel to and be on our customer sites which include but are not limited to UPS, USPS, FedEx and Amazon. You would be working with the Field Installation team which installs singulation and sortation equipment throughout these industries. It is not a requirement that the candidate live in Maryland, as travel is required within the Continental United States. This position requires a negative pre-employment (criminal background) and pre-assignment drug test (including THC) due to customer worksite requirements. As part of your background check, you are required to pass a secondary, non-sensitive security clearance for the US Postal Service in addition to background requirements of Laitram, LLC.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Travels to client sites and initiates mechanical assembly of conveyor systems and related equipment.
  • Responsible for fabrication of miscellaneous mechanical parts.
  • Assists with assembly of electrical controls panels.
  • Assist in organizing materials on-site according to build schedules.
  • Act as liaison between installation site, Project Manager, Kitting, Superintendents, Shipping and on-site contractors.
  • Submit daily reports on project dashboard to communicate progress and/or challenges that occur in on site.
  • Responsible for scheduling all travel arrangements (i.e. Airfare, hotel, rental cars)
  • Safely operate various lift equipment.
  • Diligently manage travel expenses and corporate card purchases.
  • Follow the attendance policy of the Department.
  • Promote and participate with continuous improvement efforts as needed.
  • Maintain and enforce a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in mechanical assembly of conveyor systems and fabricating miscellaneous mechanical parts.
  • Proficient with powered tools, forklifts, and vertical lifts.
  • Previous experience with the operation of lift equipment.
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be a team player and interact with internal personnel at all levels, external vendors, contractors and sales staff.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and meet strict deadlines.
  • Very strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel for extensive periods; as much as 80% or more per year.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to follow the policies and practices as noted in employee handbook.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position as detailed in the functional job description, including the requirement to lift and carry 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime, flexible schedules, and weekends as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • An Associates Degree or five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong employment references performing sheet metal fabrication, machining, package machinery assembly, construction, electrical panel building, and/or equipment installation.
  • Previous experience with Oracle operating system (Information Management System).
  • Previous experience with using Smartsheet.
  • Certification in operation of lift equipment.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
Salary Range: $20.29 to $44.62/HR
