  • Develop automation architectures that incorporate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and robotics controllers, while establishing automation standards and safety requirements in accordance with industry standards.
  • Create RFQs and technical bid packages for automation and robotic system procurements, leading supplier identification and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage automation suppliers and system integrators through concept development, design, fabrication, installation, and startup phases, ensuring adherence to Siemens Energy standards.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), validating system performance against defined KPIs and troubleshooting integration issues to achieve targeted operational objectives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing systems (3+ years with an advanced degree).
  • Proven experience in specifying, selecting, implementing, and commissioning industrial automation equipment and robotic systems, including hands-on experience with PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent) and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Experience leading automation capital projects from concept development through startup and operational handoff, including developing technical specifications, RFQs, and supplier evaluation criteria.
  • Knowledge of industrial robotics platforms (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, or similar) and experience integrating conveyor systems, robotic cells, machine vision systems, AGVs/AMRs, and automated material handling solutions.
  • Strong understanding of machine safety principles, risk assessments, and applicable automation standards, with experience conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
  • This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
