Job Description
This role provides integrated project controls and project management support to the Control Account Manager (CAM) and project leadership. The position combines project controls / management expertise (scheduling, cost management, earned value analysis) with strong contractor coordination and engineering team management responsibilities. This individual will take ownership of delegated tasks, proactively drive project progress, and serve as a key liaison between internal engineering teams, project leadership, and external contractors/subcontractors. The role focuses primarily on pre-construction and planning phases, requiring strong communication skills, contractor management experience, and the ability to optimize workflows across multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, civil, CAD). This position is ideal for a project-minded professional seeking to grow into greater autonomy in project execution and vendor management.
Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities
  • Provide integrated project controls support to the Control Account Manager (CAM) and project teams across planning, scheduling, cost management, and change control activities.
  • Coordinate and optimize engineering team workflows, including work planning and schedule coordination for a small team of engineers across various design disciplines; identify patterns and recommend process improvements to enhance team productivity.
  • Assist in vendor and subcontractor coordination activities, including:
  • Monitoring contractor deliverables, milestones, and schedule compliance
  • Tracking and evaluating contractor performance metrics
  • Supporting contract modifications, change order development, and negotiations
  • Coordinating subcontractor schedule interfaces and resolving conflicts
  • Managing RFI and submittal tracking processes
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules using critical path method (CPM) techniques to ensure accurate timelines, resource allocation, and identification of schedule risks; update schedules to reflect actual progress and changes.
  • Support change order analysis and management, including cost/schedule impact evaluation, documentation preparation, and tracking through approval and implementation.
  • Monitor and analyze project budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts; prepare monthly cost and schedule performance reports using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles; identify variances and support corrective action planning.
  • Proactively identify project risks, schedule conflicts, cost trends, and performance issues; escalate concerns to the CAM and support development of mitigation strategies and recovery plans.
  • Support contract development and budget preparation activities, including scope definition, cost estimating, and basis of estimate documentation for capital project phases.
  • Maintain risk registers, change logs, and contractor performance documentation; ensure timely updates and accurate record-keeping.
  • Create and distribute project status reports, performance dashboards, and KPI tracking to program/project leadership, clearly communicating project health and recommended actions.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with internal engineering teams and external contractors to drive project progress and resolve issues.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Support team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, under guided supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager to support project execution and delivery.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
  • Typically, three plus years of experience in project engineering, project controls, or contractor coordination roles on large-scale capital projects, mega-projects, or industrial/EPC projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across engineering disciplines, project leadership, and external contractors.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent; experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience in pre-construction and project planning phases of capital projects preferred.
  • Nuclear industry or highly regulated industry experience is a plus but not required.

Work Site Expectations: 5 days in office
Travel Expectations: 25-50% (as needed for project assignment)
Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday - Friday
Compensation
