What's in it for you:

Trane in Indiana is hiring for a Controls Engineering Specialist I to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware and software design activities for building automation systems. Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects. Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements.


What you will do:

  • Responsible for design of commercial comfort control and automation systems with supervision.

  • Responsible for obtaining and reviewing contract documents; proposals mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, etc. for incorporation into the design of an automation system.

  • Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, sequences of operations for the efficient installation of the project.

  • Be able to conduct on-site project surveys if needed to determine controls solutions.

  • Responsible for transitioning these documents to the field.

  • Responsible for the follow-up of creating as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and assisting with the transition of these to the service department.

  • Ability to follow engineering standards that are currently in place as well as following guidance from mentor/ manager.


What you will bring:

  • Previous HVAC industry knowledge such as Technician, project management, or estimating; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience or aptitude for construction and design.

  • Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.

  • Preferred that candidate has familiarity with the operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls preferred.

  • Experience with CAD program, as well as basic understanding of electrical drawings and schematics preferred.

  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team and must be able to work in a structured environment and maintain well organized records.

  • Some travel to construction sites within the district to determine controls solutions.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$72,928.33 - $101,570.00
