Job description

Seeking EngagementMove & Learn Instructor

Come work in JCC Denver's enriching, inclusive, and friendly engagement art space! This isa very funposition workingwithinfantsthrough preschool age programming.

All classes will be forinfantsthroughpreschoolages 6months -5 years.Looking for someonewho understands the social emotional needs of children and how to help foster growth and development througha variety of move and learn classes (yoga, music, tumbling,etc). The majority of theseare caregiver/child classes.

In general, classes are long-term explorations giving students an opportunity to both learn and develop skills within multiple areas. Engagement classesrunin 8-week, or 6-week increments, oroccasionalmonthly based workshop programs.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and teach engaging courses and/or workshops tailored to toddlers, preschoolers and youth.
  • Prepare curriculum, materials, and demonstrations aligned with program goals and developing the curriculum in collaboration with the Family Program Manager.
  • Provide individualized feedback and guidance to students.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom or studio environment.
  • Manage attendance, supply usage, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Uphold JCC Denver's mission and values.

Position Details

  • Work schedule may be variable or routine, with less hours in the summer.
  • Additional shifts may be available for pick up (up to 20 hours per week) based on availability.
  • Hours will be morning, afternoon, evening and/or weekends.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Instructors receive additional paid time for planning, set-up, and breakdown.

Other Duties/Responsibilities Required

  • Walkingstudents from the Early Learning School to class and back after the class is finished
  • Adheres to JCC Policy and Procedures.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador within and outside the JCC.
  • Performs duties as workload necessitates.
  • Uses internal platforms and systems required to execute job duties. Including taking daily attendance.
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience teaching preschool aged students isrequired
  • Experienceinstructinginfants through preschool aged children.
  • Candidates with early childhood education degrees or k-12 art and/or candidates with a teaching license or teaching license inprogressare strongly preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of teaching preschool aged students, including successful lesson implementation from introduction through closing, scaffolding for mixed ages, etc.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and techniques focused on community building and relationshipbuilding.
  • Genuineenjoymentand enthusiasmaboutworking withchildren.
  • Excellent people skills and enjoyment for being aroundpeople.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and with a positive work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with your colleagues and teammates
