OVERVIEW

This role supports the Director of Project Services in operating, maintaining, and monitoring project controls in use at BMWC. Will report non-compliance with stated project controls policy to management for review and correction. Consults with project teams to design, develop and maintain project control functions, cost, productivity & scheduling for specific projects. Manages administrative functions for project controls software currently in use.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Controls Engineer, you will:

Lead project teams in interactive planning sessions to develop workflow plans, schedules and detailed labor plans

Develop Work Breakdown Structures that work for both the BMWC and the customer

Technically advise project team members on how to prepare data for upload to Primavera P6 scheduling system or Microsoft Projects

Integrate planning information into the schedule to ensure alignment with interactive planning sessions

Support daily/weekly planning and Planned Percent Complete efforts

Maintains expert knowledge of Primavera P6 able to deal with master table setup, resource loading and handling multiple schedules, baselines and data import and exports

Develop proposal schedules in P6 when required

Produce and maintain working schedules for a project team assignment

Meet with customers to explain how schedule, labor plan and the cost system are integrated in our systems

Develops resource loading on project schedules to facilitate resource histogram and cumulative scurves data for metrics data

Produce cost and hour information out of COINS

Know basic posting schedules in COINS and how they affect cost and hours reports

Assist project management with monthly cost forecasts

Support the safety culture of BMWC by reporting any condition or behavior that may lead to a safety incident

When holding meetings, be proactive in providing opportunities to provide a safety learning opportunity by highlighting a recent event or proactively discussing current activities in the field

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in project controls roles

Industry experience using Primavera 6

Strong service orientation, professionalism, leadership ability and knowledge of project controls

Effective time management, strong detail orientation and accuracy

Ability to work productively with a diverse team and provide exemplary customer service

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment - prioritization is essential

Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint.; technical aptitude to learn internal systems and required packages

Technical skills to include knowledge of multiple planning and scheduling systems and knowledge of Excel

Previous work experience in the construction industry
