Job description

Position: Apprentice Electrician

Location: Hamilton, ON

Shift & Pay

  • Shift: Afternoon Shift, Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rate: $25 – $32 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Electrician to join our team. The Apprentice Electrician will support the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls in a manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience while progressing toward full trade certification in a structured industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications
  • Assist in installing, examining, replacing, and repairing electrical wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures, and related components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, voltage, and resistance
  • Support maintenance and repair of motors, switchgear, transformers, and control systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting industrial electrical systems
  • Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and work orders
  • Support inventory counts of electrical parts
  • Comply with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) regulations and safety standards

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or commercial electrical environment
  • Registered with Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) as an Apprentice, or actively working toward apprenticeship registration
  • Working toward a Certificate of Qualification
  • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
