Job description

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician

Location: Naples, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Occasional Overtime Required)
Pay: $Competitive, depends on experience

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to support industrial electrical construction and instrumentation work on projects in the Naples, Florida area. This position is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who also has experience installing, wiring, and troubleshooting instrumentation systems used in industrial or water/wastewater facilities.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot power, control, and instrumentation wiring.

  • Install conduit, cable tray, junction boxes, and associated electrical equipment.

  • Install and wire motors, VFDs, control panels, and other electrical equipment.

  • Install field instrumentation, including pressure, level, flow, and temperature devices.

  • Perform instrument terminations, loop checks, and functional testing.

  • Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and construction documents.

  • Verify proper installation and operation of electrical and instrumentation systems.

  • Assist with equipment startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and testing.

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with electricians, controls technicians, engineers, and project management.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical, E&I, Instrumentation, or Industrial Electrical Technician.

  • Experience in industrial construction, manufacturing, utilities, power generation, or water/wastewater facilities.

  • Ability to install and terminate electrical and instrumentation systems.

  • Experience reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.

  • Familiarity with motors, MCCs, VFDs, control panels, and field instrumentation.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment and hand tools.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities.

  • Experience performing instrument calibrations and loop checks.

  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and SCADA environments.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

  • NFPA 70E training.

  • Electrical apprenticeship or technical school education.
