JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary focus is on learning the multi-skilled maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning focused on developing maintenance skills and abilities
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Understand safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks
  • Know and practice respectful workplace behavior
  • This is a technical occupation that an employee will be in a technical position and required to continue their education in a trade
  • Operates Power Industrial Trucks (PIT)

ELECTRICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • LOTO trained
  • Understands and is trained on the LOTO Deviation Permit Process
  • Understand electrical arc flash protection code requirements
  • Understand basic concepts of electricity including voltage, current, and resistance
  • Understand and operate a volt-ohm-millimeters (VOM) and non-contact voltage testers to properly test for energized electrical circuits
  • Understand the basics of electrical machine controls

MECHANICAL SKILLS:
  • LOTO trained.
  • Understand mechanical fastener types, application and installation procedures. Select and install various types of fasteners
  • Handle, dispense and apply various types of lubricants
  • Understand types, properties, storage, handling and application of basic lubricants, and the use of typical lubricant charts
  • Understand basic machine shop skills and machine safety
  • Understand and participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Must be adaptable to working in dangerous situations (vaults, scaffolding), heavy equipment, and in all climates
  • Understand hydraulic valve configuration, operation, and components
  • Understand pneumatic valve configuration, operation, and component
  • Weld, braze, solder and cut metal
  • Transport and safely store oxygen and acetylene cylinders
  • Use block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come-alongs, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment
  • Inspect heavy lifting hardware and cranes, and help perform heavy lifting jobs
  • Understand basic components of blueprints including scales, symbols and dimensions

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be in a 2-year Associate Degree program in a related field and doesn't have the 3-4 year experience.
  • Trained in LOTO, Electrical / Mechanical Safe Work Practices, Ladder Safety, CPR, Respiratory protection, Incipient stage fire response, Confined space entry, Fall protection, Enclosed spaces entry, and Aerial lifts.
  • Must operate/be trained in the use of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT).
  • Basic PC skills
  • Communication and time-management skills
  • Developing customer focus skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move / manipulate heavy components
  • Occasionally squat, crawl, reach above shoulders, kneel and balance
  • Requires repetitive action such as simple staring, grasping, firm grasping, and fine manipulating. (includes right and left hands)
  • Outside work required
  • Working with various chemicals
  • High work from, ladders and platforms
  • Working in confined space conditions
  • Wearing the proper PPE
  • Handling hazardous waste wearing the appropriate PPE
  • Working near energized electric circuits
  • Working near/on hot equipment/materials

PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 68 pounds
Ability to safely push and/or pull up to 92 pounds of force
PAY RANGE:
$23.45 - $29.29
