Job Description

Machinist set up and machine using conventional and CNC machines to cut or grind materials into parts into precise dimensions. These machines include lathes, milling machines, saws, surface and cylindrical grinders, drilling and EDM machines.

POSITION ESSENTIALS

To produce high precision components with the highest level of efficiency, cost and quality to ensure the demands of our production schedule are delivered on time to all customers - both internal and external.

To accurately set up and run a variety of machines to manufacture fixtures and tooling according to drawings, production documentation, and technical specifications. The goal being first time quality.

Actively participate and promote continuous improvement of processes, methods, tooling manufacturing resulting in a maintained or improved competitive position.

Qualifications

· Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or a relevant trade school program.

· Must be able to read and interpret Engineering & Manufacturing drawings/instructions with a solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

· Good understanding of G-Code programming language and probing routines (Renishaw Probes).

· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing guidelines, standard work, 5S principles.

· Strong Problem solving and decision-making skills.

· Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.

POSITION PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

· General Machinist certification (Red Seal Preferred) or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years CNC experience.

· Experience with Heidenhain & Haas controls.

· Master Cam multi axis programing.
