What does a controllership intern do?

A Controllership Intern supports the finance and accounting teams within a company by assisting with tasks such as preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and helping with audits. The role offers valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of the controllership function, preparing interns for future careers in accounting or finance.

What types of projects and responsibilities can a controllership intern expect during their internship?

As a Controllership Intern, you can anticipate working on a mix of financial analysis, account reconciliations, and supporting month-end close processes. Interns are often tasked with preparing journal entries, assisting in internal audits, and helping to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. You'll collaborate closely with accountants and controllers, gaining exposure to various aspects of financial reporting and internal controls. This hands-on experience not only builds your technical skills but also offers valuable insight into the financial operations of the organization.
