It is important to consider the workload, learning opportunities, and whether the pay aligns with industry standards in your area.

Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle and knowledge of relevant accounting standards (such as GAAP) are commonly required. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication help interns contribute meaningfully to financial reporting and team projects. These skills ensure accuracy, compliance, and valuable support to the organization's financial management processes.

For a controllership internship, $23 an hour is above the federal minimum wage and can be considered competitive depending on the location and industry standards. Internships often pay less than full-time roles, but this rate may reflect the level of responsibility, skills required, and the company's compensation practices.
