Clinic Operating Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
Position Responsibilities
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director of the University of Idaho Vandal Health Clinic, provide health care to pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. This position will perform and maintain standards of care in:
  • General Medicine
  • Gynecology
  • Sports Medicine
  • Trauma
  • Infectious Diseases including STIs
  • Minor Surgical Skills
  • Dermatology
  • Women's Health
  • Psychosocial Medicine

Responsibilities
Job Duty Function
Performing patient care, managing communication and recordkeeping for the clinic by:
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assuming responsibility and accountability for patient care
  • Exercising administrative judgment, assuming responsibility for decisions, consequences and results impacting patients, costs and/or quality of service
  • Participating in peer chart reviews and passing periodic laboratory proficiency testing and quality control reviews
  • Attending Vandal Health Clinic meetings and educational opportunities and continued self-development and professional involvement, participating in activities and educational programs of professional organizations
  • Conducting a positive representation of the Vandal Health Clinic & University of Idaho
  • Establishing and maintaining effective channels of communication building professional relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, contractors and outside facilities
  • Using equipment and materials in a safe manner, following established safety procedures, using appropriate safeguards and observing rules of safety in all on-the job activities
  • Observing patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications
Experience in young adult health, public health, or college health.
Nurse Practitioner:
  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse License & Certified as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Active State of Idaho Nurse Practitioner License or ability to obtain by hire date
  • Active or Eligible for DEA and Idaho Controlled Substances registrations
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification or ability to obtain by hire date

Physician Assistant:
  • Master's Degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Registered Nurse License & Certified as an Adult or Family Physician Assistant
  • Active State of Idaho Physician Assistant License or ability to obtain by hire date
  • Active or Eligible for DEA and Idaho Controlled Substances registrations
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification or ability to obtain by hire date

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as an NP/PA in an ambulatory setting
  • Experience working with or knowledge of the HIPAA of 1996 and FERPA, pertaining to the release of protected health information
