Job description

Purpose

Cookies Retail is a preferred global retail partner of Cookies that owns and operates cultivation, manufacturing, and retail facilities across the United States, and beyond. Cookies is searching for a cultivation associate to join its cultivation team in Deland, Florida. Cultivation associates assist across several aspects of cannabis cultivation and are expected to follow standard operating procedures to accomplish assignments and tasks assigned to them based on a cultivation schedule implemented by the cultivation lead.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute tasks in the garden based on standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain collaborative logs and checklists as assigned.
  • Daily cleaning, sanitation, and janitorial tasks to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Deep cleaning, sanitation, and janitorial tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in the assembly, operation, and maintenance of irrigation and fertigation equipment.
  • Assist in the assembly, operation, and maintenance of environmentally controlled cultivation spaces.
  • Ensure compliance with state tracking rules and company policy as it pertains to seed-to-sale tracking.
  • Understand and monitor growing conditions in cultivation spaces.
  • Learn to inspect cannabis plants during all phases of growth and under various conditions to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Pest management tasks as assigned.
  • Harvesting cannabis, including the trimming, weighing, tracking, and packaging of cannabis.
  • Additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced understanding of horticulture and agriculture.
  • All applicants must be residing in Deland, Florida, or willing to commute.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background screening in Florida.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, hear, and speak effectively in an environment with bright light exposure, loud noises, and impaired sight lines. This role is required to stand during extended periods and lift over 50 pounds frequently. This role is required to wear PP&E during work hours and frequently change from street clothes into scrubs to enter and exit controlled areas. This role will be exposed to cannabis and must be tolerant of common agricultural pressures like mildew and mold.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
