Controller with HR (Family Office) - Onsite

  • Manage the setup of the finance department for the Company
  • Oversee the financial management including HR
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial data recorded in the accounting system
  • Review current processes and procedures for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with generally accepted accounting procedures
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements
  • Fixed Assets - maintain fixed asset records; oversee the preparation of property tax returns
  • Review and provide first level approval for all employee expense reports
  • Prepare year end closing
  • Prepare appropriate tax return reporting information and IRS attachments for third party tax preparers
  • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan Administrator - ensure all deferrals from payroll to participant's accounts are accurate, submit withdrawal/distribution forms for terminated/retired employees. Facilitate 401(k) loan requests from retirement plan
  • Benefits - review and approve billings for health, life, disability, and other forms of insurance; organize and schedule annual benefits meetings; handle COBRA/State benefit continuation for separated employees
  • Annual Audits - Facilitate and oversee annual financial statement audits
  • Serve as a backup for the CFO

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Tax
  • 10+ years of accounting, tax and/or financial auditing experience
  • Ability to present financial information to non financial individuals
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to handle last minute changes and requests
