Controller – Electrical Contracting Company

Are you a strategic financial leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment? Our electrical contracting company is seeking a Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and help guide the business into its next phase of growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, job costing, and month‑end close
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
  • Implement strong internal controls and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze job performance and profitability
  • Optimize financial systems, processes, and workflows
  • Manage banking relationships, insurance, bonding, and audits
  • Lead and mentor a small accounting team
  • Provide back‑up to other departments and staff, as necessary
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader—construction or electrical contracting experience strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, overhead burden and construction accounting principles
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights
