Position Overview

This position is responsible for productivity of the manufacturing extrusion line(s) while fostering a work environment that supports safety, productivity, quality, teamwork, and the Reschcor company culture and core values.

  • Performs required tasks on multiple assigned extrusion lines per shift
  • Packages product neatly and accurately according to the packaging instructions.
  • Performs basic quality checks using a length table and a tape measure at required frequencies.
  • Performs basic visual quality checks for surface and dimensional defects
  • Assists the Lead Technicians with placing downstream equipment during changeovers
  • Assists the startup of extrusion lines with direction from a Lead Technician
  • Assists with grinding scrap at the production line.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of downstream equipment and performs minor adjustments
  • Operates common packaging equipment
  • Responsible for any additional fabrication/end of line finishing that is required for a finished product
  • Communicates with Quality and Production team members regarding discrepancies in the work orders, packaging instructions, blue prints, and box labels. 
  • Reads and must understand blue prints, work orders, packaging instructions.
  • Responsible for communicating quality concerns with the product that is being packaged.
  • Understands and is proficient in utilizing the Quality Management System
  • Practices 5s and lean manufacturing principles and is responsible to assure that lean practices are being maintained. This includes housekeeping on assigned extrusion lines
  • Participates in and actively supports the facility safety programs
  • Responsible for assisting in providing relief to other Packers for breaks
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Regular attendance pattern

Qualifications Include

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Experience in plastics is preferred but not required
  • Proficient with basic arithmetic
  • Able to read and interpret documents related to quality, packaging, and work orders
  • Able to navigate and input data into Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Able to navigate and input data into ERP system, preferably IQMS
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
