Job description

Our client located in Bayshore is looking to hire an experienced Staff Accountant on a direct hire basis. This Staff Accountant position is a full time role and is on site. The standard hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm but you would need to put in additional hours as needed during month end, year end and quarter end. This position reports directly into the Controller and will work closely with the CFO.

JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our clients team. Our client is growing and expanding, that is why this position is open.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to)

  • Prepare account reconciliations and roll-forwards for accounts including but not limited to inventory, prepaid assets, accrued expense, fixed asset, etc.
  • Assist Controller in managing financial accounting and reporting activities for all international subsidiaries for the company.
  • Prepare financial data and international company ledgers for purposes of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and ensure a timely month-end/year end close.
  • Prepare inventory aging, analyze status of returned merchandise and work with the operations team to resolve any variances.
  • Assist Controller in the performance of monthly cycle counts.
  • Prepare financial statement for internal and external reporting.
  • Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as business continues to grow and engage in cross-training on department functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and strive well in a fast-paced work environment.
  • High level of accounting training, such as Bachelor’s or higher degrees in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years accounting or finance experience.
  • Excel is a must however Advanced Excel (ex: pivot table, v-lookup) and working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Well-grounded knowledge and comprehensive understanding of financial accounting.
  • Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills.
  • Good at working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances.

Salary is based upon experience but the target is $75k-80k plus a complete benefits package.
