Job description

Position Overview:
Sonac is looking for an Assistant Controller with a strong background in manufacturing and proficiency in data analysis and MS Office applications. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of manufacturing experience and preferably knowledge of SAP accounting software. Experience with JDE is a plus.
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for assisting the Regional Controller in all duties ranging from data management to annual budgets and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and related reports.
  • Assist in tracking capital projects and maintenance budget.
  • Assist in preparing financial dashboards and KPIs to management
  • Assist with invoice entry and payments.
  • Assist with setting up new vendors and customers.
  • ERP data extraction and manipulation to useful data sets
  • Process General Ledger entries and Journal entry transactions.
  • Assist in standard costing updates.
  • Assist with customer sales orders and shipments and supplier receipts of raw material
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX reviews.
  • Data uploads and reviews

General Proficiencies:
  • Strong background in Excel.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Knowledgeable in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Strong ability to extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets from ERP systems to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, costing, and operational decision-making.
  • Cross-department communication and cooperation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or other business-related field.
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience in Accounting/Finance.
