Job description

Position Summary...Join the Walmart Health & Wellness Compliance team to support the growth and development of controlled substance compliance! Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Controlled Substance Compliance (CSC) Specialty Compliance and Ethics Health and Wellness, Operations team. You will support the development and implementation of an effective compliance program for Walmart Controlled Substance Compliance. We are seeking a detail-oriented Manager to support the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) logic within our pharmacy dispensing systems. The associate will interpret technical PMP manuals to ensure accurate state-level reporting and serve as a key liaison between our Controlled Substance Compliance (CSC) team and our offshore technical/development team. The PMP Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely PMP data reporting for our pharmacy dispensing systems.
About the Health & Wellness Compliance Team:
The Walmart Health & Wellness Compliance team advances controlled substance compliance through thoughtful program development and execution. Reporting into senior leadership, the team manages PMP logic within pharmacy dispensing systems to support accurate, state-specific reporting and regulatory adherence. Through close partnership with technical, operations, and business teams, the group emphasizes data-driven oversight, continuous improvement, and accountability to support compliant pharmacy operations across Walmart’s health and wellness initiatives.What you'll do...
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program – Support the Walmart CSC program, with specific emphasis on validating, analyzing, and maintaining PMP logic within the dispensing system.
  • Build effective relationships – Establish relationships with key stakeholders and effectively integrate with the business to secure compliance as the most trusted support function.
  • Support enterprise and team success – Facilitate timely identification of compliance risks and implementation of effective mitigation strategies to enable successful implementation of business initiatives. 
  • Operate with excellence – Identify KPIs that measure and monitor potential risk areas and facilitate the implementation of effective tools to assess those indicators.

  • You’re a subject matter expert in controlled substance compliance requirements, with interest in applying this expertise around pharmacy compliance and supporting initiatives in our service lines.
  • You have significant experience and familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, including the ability to interpret and implement technical specifications for state prescription reporting requirements.
  • You’re process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • You have strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • You have experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • You’re organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven experience working with pharmacy dispensing systems or similar healthcare technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of PMP (Prescription Monitoring Program) reporting requirements and logic.
  • Familiarity with controlled substances regulations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and translate technical manuals and regulatory documents into actionable system requirements.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and pharmacy operations.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working with technical teams.
  • Experience with SQL or other data querying languages.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
  • Experience working in a pharmacy, or other healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in compliance, technical analyst, or business analyst role within healthcare or pharmacy settings
