About this role
The Systems Engineering professional works independently, converts product requirements into total system solutions, leads trade studies, and implements common work practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a Sub-System of a major new product development program or the entire scope of a smaller new product development program.
  • Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fan systems, and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC&R and electronic control systems.
  • Develop and execute testing and qualification for systems, sub-systems, and components.
  • Review test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
  • Provide reliability analysis of components and systems.
  • Develop and coordinate engineering documents and release.
  • Provide daily direction to supporting Designers & Test Technicians.
  • Prepare presentations for Qualification Review Boards including demonstrating the use of Quality System deployment tools.
  • Collaborate with team members from Marketing, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Document process improvements as part of standard engineering work.
  • Identification of reliable and cost-effective purchased components required for new product development projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience working with refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems, structural analysis & electronic control systems.
  • 3+ years of experience working with specification, design, development, and manufacture of products in HVAC refrigeration and compression.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced Degree in Systems, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
  • Hands-on experience working in an Engineering design environment.
  • Demonstrated system design thinking skills and creative new product design skills.
  • Project management and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within an engineering design team
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods.
  • Working knowledge of industry test and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in continual process improvement.
  • Experience with model-based design techniques
  • Experience integrating and verifying & validating performance of complex systems
  • Knowledge of CSA/ANSI and UL Standards is a plus. AHRI, ASHRAE, DOE, EPA, NEC, UL/CSA, etc.
  • Familiarity with Heat Pumps is a plus
  • Experience in thermo-fluid system control development.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Creo is a plus
  • Knowledge of model development software tools like Ansys/Fluent is a strong differentiator.
  • Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink, Visual Basic, C/C++.
  • Ability to professionally engage with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to understand and translate product requirements into control system requirements
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts across technical and non-technical organizations
  • Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment.
  • Ability for developing continuous improvement projects to influence and drive change
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
