The Systems Engineer role entails implementation and administration of server systems, applications and networks. This position is to ensure that the servers, software and network systems in the firm are maintained, timely updated and patched.

Essential functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and implementation of various Microsoft 365 features including but not limited to Entra ID/conditional access, InTune, OneDrive, Teams, etc.
  • Software and patch deployment using NinjaOne, Microsoft AutoPilot and/or other patching solutions for centralized distribution of software packages, service packs, hot fixes, system updates and patches.
  • Actively monitor systems to identify, troubleshoot and resolve errors and failures related to the desktop environment and assist the team with server related issues as directed.
  • Manage software inventory to ensure adequate licensing is maintained.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and effectively handle stress.
  • Availability to work outside of normal schedule (nights/weekends).
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and appropriately interact with others.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft AD services, DNS, Windows Server 2012-2019, TCP/IP protocol in an Ethernet environment; including knowledge of LANs, VLANs, troubleshooting, and complete understanding of TCP/IP, POP, SMTP, SFTP, SSH, HTTP, SSL, and WMI.
  • Experience with migration to and administration of Microsoft 365, Entra and Azure.
  • Network experience with Palo Alto and Meraki.
  • Power Shell scripting experience.
  • Experience with VMWARE and Virtual Guest technologies, storage array technologies, business continuity/recovery practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Experience with iManage Work 10, ideally in the cloud.
  • Ability to work in a production environment under demanding circumstances and apply existing skills, knowledge, and techniques to new circumstances delivering high-quality work within agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience in identity and network security, Entra, Palo Alto, Meraki, and SSL certificates implementation and management.
  • Must have strong communication skills with an ability to simplify complex technical details for a general audience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written skills providing clear and concise technical documentation to audiences of different technical levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Approximately 5 to 7 years of experience in an engineering role.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Normal law office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.

The reasonably expected pay scale for this position depending on experience is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, exempt.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s location and experience.  We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
