Join Spectrum as a Systems Engineer II and help shape enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems applications, operating systems, and databases supporting every division. Your expertise in application administration and systems engineering will contribute to high-quality, scalable solutions that strengthen Spectrum’s performance and reliability. Your work will directly influence our technological advancement and service delivery. 

Shift desired: Mon-Fri, 6:00 am-3:00 pm


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and review OSS application solutions 
  • Evaluate integration capabilities and solution designs for feasibility and value 
  • Develop detailed documentation and specifications for new and enhanced applications 
  • Estimate work efforts and support task prioritization and release planning 
  • Build and test core modules, tools, and release notes for system improvements 
  • Install, configure, and maintain OSS applications and related operating systems 
  • Provide 'on call' support to resolve OSS application issues after normal business hours 
  • Apply change management processes to minimize customer impact during maintenance 
  • Work with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases in variety of languages 
  • Document system configurations, upgrades, and change control policies 
  • Monitor and assist in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources

  • On-call support on a rotation basis

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; may require Industry Standard Certifications 

Experience 

  • 3+ years of Application Development experience in relevant areas 
  • 2+ years of Network OSS application experience 
  • 2+ years of System administration experience 
  • 2+ years of Database support and development experience 
  • 2+ years in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) experience 

Skills 

  • Demonstrated in-depth ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality; create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications; follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures; troubleshoot application problems
