Theย Senior Control Systems Engineerย is a member of the Waukesha Controls team responsible for engine controls development and validation activities.

Essential Responsibilitiesย 

  • Develop engine control algorithms for technical demonstration and production release.
  • Use system dynamic analyses using first-principles to support recommendations.
  • Use simulation techniques for control system rapid prototyping and product development.
  • Support control software verification & validation activities.
  • Lead new technology developments such as advanced control algorithms, implementation of new hardware technologies, advanced monitoring and diagnostic functions.
  • Support control architecture studies for evaluation, proof of concept, and potential production implementation.
  • Leverage simulation techniques to evaluate Waukesha product in new applications.ย  Make recommendations to leadership for product changes to meet application expectations.
  • Presentation of technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical leadership to programs and lead development activities related to controls products using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Develop and maintain design specifications, test plans and other documentation for controls products.
  • Provide testing, analysis, technical support and direction on resolving manufacturing, procurement, quality, service, and reliability problems as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:ย 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited Technical College or University.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in controls software development.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future.ย 

Preferred Skills:ย 

  • Advanced technical education in electrical-/mechanical-engineering or computer sciences (Masters or PhD) - focus on control systems.
  • Experience with embedded controls hardware.
  • Experience and understanding of production software development processes.
  • Experience in field of controls development related to internal combustion engine systems and/or vehicles and/or aircraft.
  • Knowledge of requirements management techniques and tools.
  • Process-oriented with a strong background in specification development and validation and verification techniques.
  • Experience with Simulink modeling and auto code generation tools for embedded code development.
  • Experience with functional safety standards and impact on the control system.
  • Familiarity with RS-485, CANbus, Modbus and other industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience mentoring early career team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Deadline oriented, strong attention to detail.
