Job Title: Control Panel Wireman (In Katy, TX!!)

Job Description

This role focuses on building custom control units in a dedicated custom controls department, with a primary emphasis on assembling control panels and related control solutions such as HMIs. You will use wiring diagrams and schematics to build panels from scratch for specialty and hazardous locations, ensuring all work meets strict cleanliness and quality standards. The position starts as a contract opportunity with strong potential to transition into a long-term, permanent role based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom control panels and related control solutions, including HMIs, from start to finish using detailed wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Build control panels from scratch, ensuring correct component placement, wiring, labeling, and overall panel integrity.
  • Follow all instructions and procedures carefully, especially for units designed for specialty and hazardous locations, to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times, keeping materials and tools neat in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Use electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to route, connect, and terminate wires accurately within control panels.
  • Inspect and verify completed panels for proper wiring, functionality, and quality before they move to the next stage of production.
  • Work independently after the initial training period, managing daily tasks and meeting production and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members and trainers during the initial shadowing period to learn company-specific processes and best practices.
  • Handle multiple assignments as needed, including assembling other custom control solutions beyond standard panels.
  • Adhere to all shop policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards while working in a clean, air-conditioned environment.

The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and order, supporting focused, detail-oriented electrical assembly work.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
